Election 2012: Your stories |
Are you better off now than four years ago?
One of the great moments in the race for president
occurred during the 1980 debate between Ronald
Reagan and Jimmy Carter. In his closing statement,
Reagan asked the nation a simple, yet profound
question: Are you better off than four years ago? That
question helped Reagan get to the White House.

Cayla Webster, a journalism student at North
Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, N.C.,
posed that question to a struggling graduate
student who is weighing which presidential
candidate to vote for on Tuesday.
