    Election 2012: Your stories

Election Day - Southern California Style!

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RCNorm told me, 'It was smooth sailing here in California. My church is a polling place, so I was up early to open it up for the polling crew. It was nice to see lots of young people working the polls there. This was the busiest polling place of all those I visited, and the wait was no more than 30-35 minutes. At my own polling place, the whole process took less than 15 minutes. I'm sure the lines and wait times will grow somewhat as people get off from work and go to the polls, but I doubt it will be the hours like we're seeing in other states.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

After months of seemingly never-ending campaigning, Election Day 2012 is finally here. The polls opened at 7:00 am and remain open until 8:00 pm. Its a beautiful day in the Southland; with the weather in the mid 80's. The voters all seemed in good spirits and didn't mind waiting in the moderate heat (most likely because the wait times were in minutes and not hours as it is in other states). Hopefully, by the time the polls close in California we'll know who the next president will be.
