    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Makandel, a photographer in Washington, D.C. -- and an Obama voter -- headed to the White House when the election results came in. 'You have just seen democracy work in its purest form -- what do you do? You go to the White House and rejoice. You celebrate freedoms that allowed you to watch this all happen. I went in 08, I went for bin Laden, I went in 12 -- and if I'm here in 16, I'll go again.'

    Thousands of people made their way to the White House to celebrate the re-election of Barack Obama. They carried signs, champagne, and high expectations for the next four years.
