What’s your secret spot in Beijing? |
Even scarce things are appreciated
This photo was taken at Yellow Mountain (Mt. Huangshan) in Sep this year. When stepping down the stairs, I saw this porter climbing up there taking balance for heavy looking stuff. Yellow Mountain is a majestic place registered as UNESCO's World Natural and Cultural Heritage. We stayed at Beihai Hotel, a four-star hotel in the area but the hotel did not provide basic items such as heater, tooth brush or shampoo. It was not really comfortable considering that that was a four-star hotel, but after seeing the porter, we appreciated everything the hotel provided. We learned that all supplies are transported by cable cars to the station and then have to be carried to the hotels by porters.
