    Hurricane Sandy's Storm Surge in the Streets of Coney Island

    I took this photo from my balcony as the storm surge was just beginning to hit Coney Island. At the height of the surge, the flood water was 4-8 feet deep in the streets knocking out power and plunging the neighborhood into darkness. Everyone in these photos was rescued, most
