A View from the Bridge
I had the great good fortune to visit Florence with my family a few years back and was completely mesmerized by the city. So much so that our second day there--during which we planned to see the world-calss Uffizi Museum--I realized that I could not bring myself to spend the day indoors when the true art was the city itself.
My family looked at me askance when I begged off, but knowing me as they did they were hardly surprised. So off they went and off I went with my camera to drink in and shoot up in as much of Florence as I could. This photo was taken from the Ponte Vecchio. The winds was still and the Arno was as smooth as glass.
