At 6.37.55am on November 14, 2012, a total Solar Eclipse will take place across the Douglas region in Australia. The Port Douglas Eclipse Festival aims to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime experience from our unique tropical location.
All eyes will be on the horizon overlooking the Coral Sea in Tropical North Queensland as the total solar eclipse casts an incredible shadow across the region.
The Douglas region will be one of the best places in the world to witness this natural phenomenon. By proudly supporting the local community the Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce is planning a week long celebration for this unique event.
As the gateway to the World Heritage-Listed Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest, Port Douglas is the perfect place to not only be a part of history, but soak up the sights and sounds of the tropics immersed in a carnival atmosphere.
