    Hurricane Sandy. Staten Island.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     NYCfoto created a photo essay that documents the aftermath and recovery of Superstorm Sandy in Staten Island. He says he was only able to now share these photographs because power was just restored to his home a few days ago. For the past week he has been without power and staying with his parents. He says when Sandy first struck Staten Island the area looked like a war zone. 'There were cars on top of other cars, there were huge fallen trees everywhere, houses destroyed. A lot of people stayed in their houses in Irene, so this time a lot of people did not leave for Sandy,' he said.
