'Superstorm' Sandy: Your stories |
JCP&L Leaves most of our Town in the Dark, refuses to help Power our School
There is one transformer down that is affecting the main corridor our our town, two or three neighborhoods, and our school. JCP&L is claiming they have powered up our town, but have, in truth, left half of us in the dark and without school for our children. Here is the official picture of the substation from our local police station, which also has no power.... the fix is a relatively simple one, but they REFUSE to come work on it, and continue to lie and tell us there is no estimated time.... everyone in our town, even those with power are pulling together and complaining to the Government Utilities Commission.
from our town facebook page; "This is the tree at the Port Morris/Netcong switch that is causing the problem for our residents in Southern Byram. JCP&L told us three days ago they dispatched 5 power crews and 2 forestry crews to work on this. To date JCP&L can’t give us an update. We met with the Netcong officials, and our Senate and Assembly leaders as well. JCP&L has been told about this for a week now and has done nothing, despite our best efforts and those of Netcong officials as well."
If you read this PLEASE forward it to anyone who will listen, so we can get JCP&L back to our town to finish the job they started.
