    Helping neighbors

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     joshfromny1 captured video of people coming together and organizing a barbecue for Sandy victims of Island Park, New York, on November 10. He says the goal of the event was to give the people in the community a change of routine and provide some hot food as well. He says this event has allowed people in the community to come out and donate their time and possessions to other neighbors in need because of Superstorm Sandy. He also says his neighborhood is still recovering from Sandy. There are still downed trees and power lines and a limited gas supply. Power is being restored, but he says his town needs a lot more time to recover from the storm.

    Today at Island Park train station, many residents of a number of communities come together to help those in need. On one side we have FEMA and the Red Cross, on the other friends start a BBQ for all those that need a hot meal.
