100 places to eat like a local

plain as the ink on my skin

My family has been dining at the Montcalm Restaurant, (in the Lake George Adirionadack region), since 1958; we've NEVER had a bad meal! The atrmospher is one of old Adirondack camp era, gracious dining, seldom annoyed by screaming children and "rude" individuals using their cell phone during the dining experience. Getting harder to find and enjoy this sort of culinary ambiance. One never walks out lamenting that they were- long on garnish and short on substance; (I leave totally satiated!). The service is reminiscent of a time gone by in this this fast paced world, and one cerrtainly doesn't feel cheated when the bill arrives, (fair-fare indeed!). My enthusiasm for this establsihment is as plain as the ink on my skin! Waited over 1/2 a century to get my first "inking", I had the Montcalm Restaurant, (along with their crest), and "Table 18", (my favorite seat next to the stone fireplace), tattooed to my lower leg that I reserved for family tributes; (that should speak volumes!)... My favorite menu selection is Soft-shelled crab (in season), albeit, there seems to be no wrong choices!. *(Montcalm Restaurant can of course be Googled for a look-see)...
