100 places to eat like a local |
"Get fed like Ya Mama fed ya!"
Goodness gracious! I went to 'Gumbeaux's Cajun Cafe' because I wanted a 'Hurricane' which is an awesome New Orleans beverage. This place was recommended by the friend of a friend. When we arrived, there was a line outside at about 6:30pm on a Friday. We were however seated about right away. People all over the place were just happy with that renowned Nawlinz party spirit.
Ridiculousness! Describes portion sizes at this place. I ordered the Creole Chicken AuGratin that consists of 2 huge deep fried chicken breasts piled atop a PILE of andouille hash topped all off with tasso cheese sauce -dang I am gettin' hoangree just thinkin' about it!! But the menu is full of potential favorites like Shrimp and 3 cheese Grits, Crawfish Etoufee (that my girl ordered) or WJ's famous Red Beans & Rice. OH!! and Crawfish Bread! It's Cajun cookin' Ya'll heaped upon big ol' plates. When people come to town to visit, this is where i take them to get some gator.
