Cherry @themovies - Rise of the Guardians 2012 AFI Fest

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     CherryLA reviewed the 3D animated movie "Rise of the Guardians." She says she loved how the movie re-imagined characters like Santa Claus as a tough Russian man. She also enjoyed learning about Jack Frost's storyline and found the movie to be pretty funny. 'It's a really good movie, and it will likely be quite a few kids' "go to" holiday movie for the upcoming years,' she said. She gave the movie a B+ rating. 'As an adult it kept me entertained, gave me a few jumps and even brought a tear to my eye,' she said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

I saw Rise of the Guardians at the 2012 AFI Fest in Hollywood and was impressed with this 3D animated film.  It didn't have the frantic energy of 80s Disney films but instead was a rich new fairy tale with a great story and beautiful animation.  I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this film it had an emotional core that will appeal to the child in all if us and a plot that is layered enough to entertain adults but still visual wonders for small kids.  It's a true modern family friendly animated movie that doesn't rely on crazy hi jinks or songs but instead a plot that ties kids favorite legends and a few they may not yet know.  Rise of the Guardians will be out in time for winter holidays so go see the film and create a new holiday tradition.
