7th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) Ended in Karachi.
Pakistan’s seventh defence exhibition showcasing its military goods ended from today at the Karachi Expo Centre, November 11, 2012, Photo by Yasir Kazmi, Karachi, Pakistan.
IDEAS 2012 has seen a remarkable response as 56countries from around the globe are participating with 209 companies in total out of which 135 are foreign and 74 are Pakistani. In the current security scenario, the participation and coming together of so many countries under one roof speaks volume of the success of the defence exhibition. The interest of the regional defence companies and their response so far is very over whelming. Turkey and China are the biggest exhibitors and Heavy Industries Taxila and NORINCO China have signed an MoU for Al Khalid tank. According to it, the companies will be working for the joint marketing of Al Khalid tanks and several other products.
Some of the major indigenously developed products to be showcased in IDEAS-2012 include Main Battle Tank Al–Khalid, JF–17 Thunder Fighter Aircraft, Jet Trainer Aircraft and UAVs etc.

Officials stating that the event is more about Islamabad’s determination to reassert its presence in the global arms and ammunition market, rather than sealing immediate deals.
