    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     These colourful photos were taken by Manish Kanojia in Sector 18, in what he describes as “one of the most happening locations” in the Noida district in New Delhi.

    The colored sand on sale is for making Rangolis, the decorative floor designs meant to welcome guests and encourage the goddess Lakshmi inside during Diwali. “Most people buy the sand and make their own, or they buy readymade stencils,” he said.
