    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     sjhill87 captured this image of today's solar eclipse in Wellington, New Zealand.

    "I thought it would be cool to take a few photos because I haven't seen an eclipse in my lifetime. We didn't get a full eclipse here but they did in Northern Queensland in Australia," he says.

    "I've known about the eclipse for over a year, but not many people in New Zealand would have known about it until the last few days when the media started reporting it. Most people were really excited once they got to look through the solar lenses to see the eclipse."

    I used safe solar viewing sunglasses to observe the eclipse, and here is a photo of what the eclipse looked like through the solar lense.
