"They're all beautiful and different and this one in particular was unique. It had a very delicate corona and you could see the moon's shadow very clearly which is unusual for a morning eclipse," he says.
"There was also a beautiful diamond ring which appears right before totaility. This was one of the better ones I've seen. Just like all of the others, it didn't last long enough"
This was my 13th total eclipse seen. We had to get up at 0100 to get the boat out to Green Island, where the weather was a lot better than Cairns. We saw the eclipse in partly cloudy but very adequate skies. I had camera problems, which were a combination of excitement, fatigue, and hurry. In these instances, one drops the camera and just looks, since you remember the sight, but you seldom pull out the photo to look at it. On the way back, I was interviewed by Australian TV, too. This makes a central eclipse on or over all 7 continents. Which one was most special? All of them are!
