Local Attorney gives back to her community this Thanksgiving Holiday with the 4th Annual Great Turkey Giveaway!

2012 will mark our 4th Annual Great Turkey Giveaway. This event is organized and funded by The Law Offices of Attorney Juli Upton and SeniorSell.com. Juli Upton is also the founder and creator of SeniorSell.com. “Making Online Auctions Affordable”! This years giveaway is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November the 20th, and will begin at 1:30 PM at our 2091 Broadway Street, North Bend Oregon office. Turkeys and sides will be given away on a first come first serve basis. We will have beverages available at the giveaway and items for families will include, One 10-14 1b. turkey, potatoes and carrots. Please bare in mind only one turkey will be given away per represented family. You must be present to be eligible for this giveaway and again is on a first come first serve basis. This year we intend to provide a new record of 500 10-14lbs turkeys, 2,000lbs of potatoes, and 500lbs of carrots. Wow!

Several Local businesses will also be lending a hand this year in donations and significant price reductions to help us reach more families in need within our community. Our local Pepsi Cola, now Bigfoot Beverages, has already donated banners and Pepsi products. North Bend McDonalds will be donating the orange juice, cups and ice. Jeff St. Clair Capitol Ventures will be providing the commercial truck and trailer to transport the turkeys and vegetables, Knutson’s Karpet Hut will be donating a driver and forklift to offload the pallets of turkeys and vegetables. Cash and Carry will be providing the vegetable order. And again, our local Wal*Mart Supercenter will be providing the large order of birds from their Coos Bay store #1880. We again approached Store Manager, Randall Jones about our giveaway. He and his meat department manager, Jim, have again given us a substantial break per pound again allowing our dollars to purchase more birds and reach more families in the process.

How did the turkey giveaway begin? Being a Mid Westerner from the small town of Grand Rapids, in Northern Minnesota, Juli knows what it can be like when times are tough. She knew it was important to help those around us if we have the means and ability to do so. With the continuing success of her private law practice here in North Bend OR and a large client load, Juli felt she, her practice, and her family had been very blessed. She felt better in a position to give back to the community and reach out to those who were less fortunate and struggling during the Holiday Season. She was quoted as saying, “If you are being blessed you need to help others around you who are in need” . Juli also makes it a point to feed her elderly neighbor several times a week as well.

The First two years of the Great Giveaway we were joined by local Doctor, Wallace Webster along with his family. Since 2011 though, Juli Upton’s office has solely funded all the costs for turkeys and trimmings for this event and will do so again this 2012 Thanksgiving Season.
