100 places to eat like a local
Diving for lunch in Loreto, Mexico
Come and spend the whole day and do nothing but bask in the sun, go for swim, take a kayak out, or if you haven’t tried standup paddling, see how your balance is after a few Cervezas…I go wet a few times while my wife stayed dry.
Hunt for your own lunch
After spending a couple of days at this little Oasis, one of the cooks asked me if I wanted to go out and hunt for clams. Armed with mask, fins and snorkel, we swam out a couple of hundred yards into the bay and dove for the clams. Swimming on the surface, we would look for these tiny holes in the sand indicating a clam would be underneath. Holding our breath, we would dive to the about 20 feet to the bottom and dig up the clams by hand. Fortunately for me, my guide was a pro because at the end of our little adventure, the score was 4 clams for me….36 for the cook. My wife and I did not starve….but I don’t think I would make it on Survivor Island.
