Damnoen Saduak, Thailand
This iReport is part of an assignment:
100 places to eat like a local
Pad Thai in Thailand
Pad Thai served in a Banana Leaf Bowl has to be one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed. You might have to ask for directions when you get to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market (the name of the eatery is pictured on photo #4), it's well worth the little trek or you can take a boat. This is a local restaurant off the beaten path. If you walk from the Floating Market area, it's a true adventure, as you have to cross a few foot bridges over the canals along the way.
Damnoen Saduak is about 100 kilometers Southwest of Bangkok.
These pictures are taken at this quaint little eatery beside the canal. I also stayed in their little hotel on the water, which consisted of two hotel rooms. Well worth it and will return again someday.
The people, the food and the culture an experience that will for sure leave a smile on your face.
Pictures taken by Marie Sager, except for the last picture taken by Michael Michalec.
