‘Peace and Quiet’ at Times Square
- Anika3, CNN iReport producer
‘Peace and Quiet’ is a temporary civic dialogue station at Times Square, where Veterans and civilians engage in conversation. Conversations are open-ended and moderated so that Veterans and civilians have opportunity to listen and participate. It is a tranquil place to meet, share stories, leave a note, or shake hands.
The project started November 11, and ends today. It was initiated, designed, and built by Brooklyn-based architecture firm Matter Practice, in partnership with Times Square Alliance.
The station is hosted by several organizations - Pat Tillman Foundation, Tillman Military Scholars, Socialgence, Code of Support Foundation, Brian Fernandes-Hollaran, and StoryCorps’ Military Voices Initiative.
