Endangered Indian political Tiger, Thackeray dies passes away in the thunder of Diwali
A few hours ago I received a report from Mumbai (Bombay) by telephone that Bal Thackeray, respectfully referred to him by his followers as Balasaheb Thackeray passed away of cardiac arrest after failing health for several months. He founded the Shiv Sena which was head quartered in the building in Image 1. in Shivaji Park area. This building was rebuilt after the original building was demolished after a islamic terrorist attack. He was referred to as tiger because of his fiery oratory and often fearless rhetoric against those who opposed him. He began as a cartoonist and remained one until the very end. No regional politician has had such strong remote influence in every nook and corner of India as Mr. Thackeray. He was instrumental in getting presidents, parliamentarians, legislators and corporators elected as he did. He was a patritic leader who nipped the communists in the bud in Bombay and prevented them from ruling India. He also stood up to the Islamic terrorists in the past 2 decades and survived several terrorist threats against him. He was referred to as tiger because of the mascot of his party, a tiger. He was a close friend of Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachaan and Tamil actor like Rajnikant and melody queen Lata Mangeskar. Both friend and foe have expressed their loss. In a few hours his body will be placed for public viewing at Shivaji Park. The cradle of Indian cricket and political change and struggle for Indian independence and the birth of the state of Maharashtra with Mumbai as its capital. Mr. Thackeray right to vote was stripped for a few years for inciting violence against muslim minorities in Mumbai. A controversial figure whose sense of humor and plain talk endeared his followers and brought the wrath of voters a number of times. Images 2-8 are pictures of Shivaji Park taken earlier this year. Images 2 is the bust of his wife Mrs Meenatai Thackeray and Images 3-8 are images of Shivaji park periphery and the park where a quarter million people are expected to file past the body of their leader.
