    Diwali celebration- lights, camera and sweets!!!

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     PrachiS captured these photos in the city of Mumbai between November 11 and November 13. "The pictures give a glimpse of how I celebrated my Diwali. The pictures contain moments of Lakshmi Pooja, putting aalta on feet, making flower garlands, having small bulbs decorating my building compound, and more," she says. " I was continuously involved in all the activities of the festival! It's my favorite festival. It was very colorful, bright and happy. Truly a Diwali mood."

    I'm not too fond of fire crackers, but I love the festival of Diwali for all the diyas, the colourful tiny bulbs, and all the yummy sweets. This year, like any other, I celebrated Diwali with my family at home (in Mumbai): made different types of sweets, made toran (flower garlands for decoration), rangoli, lighted lot of diyas and put aaltaa (red liquid used to make designs on feet and hands, somewhat like mehendi), performed lakshmi pooja with mom and of course, clicked a lot of pictures. Here is a glimpse of my Diwali 2012 :-)
