'Superstorm' Sandy: Your stories |
Community Help
‘In the Philippines where I was from, we also have had this kind of devastation from really bad storms,' Sunsetlady says. 'I could relate with the people that were affected here because I've seen and know people from my country who were affected like this.'
Taylor Basile, a resident of Staten Island, initiated the effort and joined forces with community organizations to help and ensure aid got to the residents of Staten Island. Through collective efforts, those affected by Hurricane Sandy were able to receive blankets, toiletries, water, baby formula and many other items.
- Jamescia, CNN iReport producer
