    Epitome of a Volunteer

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     ahmadc22 told me, 'The community there has been devastated with hundreds of homes flooded and ruined. People are desperately looking for help in cleaning their homes, which consists of gutting the inside by removing appliances, sheet rock walls, cabinets and more. All I saw as I drove around the blocks were piles of debris outside homes. The volunteers were going around doing some serious, back breaking work in gutting the houses, something the residents just wouldn't have been able to do themselves.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

I was in Long Beach, New York this weekend where I came across an amazing story of a volunteer. Burama Diba, from Gambia, was visiting his brother on vacation in Seattle. He saw the news of Hurricane Sandy and its devestation. Instead of enjoying his 2 week vacation, he took the initiative and found his way to New York to help first hand. He was volunteering with the organization Humanity First USA.  His story inspired me to make this iReport. I hope it inspires others to volunteer. Video by Muhsin Shahid, Editing by Ahmad Chaudhry.
