I met my wife in a shopping mall in Dublin, Ohio. She is Chinese born and currently a Canadian citizen. She, coincidentally, has a childhood friend that lives in Columbus, Ohio and was visiting her. I was talking on the phone when I saw her and went all the way out to my car to return to the office before deciding to go back an look for her. I introduced myself and we were married 6 months later, in September 2011. The plan was that we were going to wait until nicer weather in the spring before visiting China to meet her family. Upon hearing about the nature of her father's failing health, I insisted that we visit the family immediately. We had a wonderful visit, realizing that the family was all together, with all of the daughters and the son married while the father was still alive to enjoy us. The father died two weeks after my wife and I returned home.
