    Get Fed at The Shed

    Ocean Springs, Ms
    The Shed is a National icon. They have built it out of junk...truly. The BBQ is a sweet southern variety that literally falls off the bone. Over a ton of meat is served a day, 7 days a week. A brother and sister team opened it up 11 years ago. The que and the sides are outstanding! They have appeared on many national television shows including Diners, DriveIns and Dives, won the Ultimate Hometown Grill Off on Regis and Kelly, been on FoodNetwork many times. They also compete in BBQ competitions and have won Memphis in May world Championships. The entire place is amazing. Not only is the bbq world class but the atmosphere is something to behold. The entire story of The Shed and the family who own it and the folks that frequent it is like no other. The Shed began as a 300 sq. ft. takeout and within 10 years had morphed into 15,000 square foot indoor/outdoor entity. People from all over the world, including celebrities eat at The Shed. They have a huge following called ShedHeds. They do good work for the community all the time and the community turns out for them when they need it. Feb. 2012 The original building burned to the ground. People started showing up with truck loads of building materials the next day. They never stopped serving food to the volunteers that came to help them start over and on the 5th day at 5 OClock they were open for business again. The Shed Crew started out in 300 sq. feet, went to 15,000 and over night went back to 300 sq. feet. Quite a testament to tenacity to say the least. Today The Shed is a sprawling...shanty town, probably 11,000 sq. ft and still building. Remarkably they are back to where they were financially year to date. Back to the food....must be something wonderful, this ramshack, old school place reacted the 4 Million dollar mark in 2011. So come on a try it. It truly is the place America eats BBQ and would be a star on your map. I have attached a Shed Commercial so you can see it in the background to see and all the insanity attached to it that folks love so much. The Shed is the place that when folks come to town and ask "Where's a great local place to eat"? The Shed is the place.
