Homeless, Abused, Mother gets off Section 8 after 1 yr with Student Financial Aid to buy Foreclosure
I wanted my son to have free College. Kalamazoo has the Promise. I gave my disabled husband of twelve years the house in the divorce. I stayed in a homeless shelter because no family would help me and the emotional and physical abuse I endured my entire life, all caught up with me with all of my sudden life changes. I felt abandoned but my son was all I could think about. I told Thomas I would get a house someday but I had to settle for the stepping stone of a Housing Choice Voucher. It took me only 1 year but I got off Section 8 and used my Student Financial Aid to buy an abandoned foreclosure (fixxer upper) in Kalamazoo. I am still in school thriving for a better future and hearing my son say he is so proud of me, is worth the hardship .Help the Government, Your Town, and Yourself!
