The power of the storm was humbling and haunting. The energy shifted everywhere and everyone went into survival mode. As an artist, I found the destruction to have a certain beauty, a sad reality that what we once knew as our home can be flipped upside down when we least expect our lives will change.' As to what critics might say, she responded, 'I can see how they could be controversial in that I'm using an area for artistic gain however I in no way aimed to be offensive and any prints that I sell, 100% proceeds will go to the Misquamicut Beach charity to rebuild what has been lost. I merely was capturing a moment in history, I also have been affected by the storm, in fact I still have no heat or hot water. It was cathartic for me to take the pictures as a way of moving forward. '
