    Jupiter & The Moon

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     HOLadd1 told me, 'You get a real sense for how big the solar system is when you consider Jupiter's distance (approx 500 million miles) from earth compared to the moon's 230,000 miles and it still being a significant object in the night sky. Put another way: if Jupiter were the same distance as the moon it would fill 80% of the night sky.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

Today Jupiter and the Moon are less than one degree apart in the night sky.

These shots were taken in the early evening in Tulsa, OK.
