In memory of... A legend!
During the 70's I attended a small communication school as well as learned the resort and yachting business. It was an adventure and well worth it for me. I had a lot of fun and met some high rollers.
One of my all time favorites was "Evel Knievel". What a showman. He lived life to the fullest. I was in Miami Florida at the time working for the industrialist Victor Posner aboard the yacht Sharon S.
Evel was a true daredevil. From his Caesars Palace jump in 1967 where it was a disaster and he laid in a coma for 29 days, to the Snake River canyon jump which also failed. But he made many successful jumps also. Between 1965 to 1980, Evel did approx. 75 shows.
Evel's jumps were 1 of 4 of ABC's Wide World of Sports most all time viewed events in history!
