Pink Floyd keyboardist dies |
Feels like a little bit of me died....
I have been a diehard Floyd fan since I first discovered their music in 1981. Floyd was a major influence in my formative years and remains to this day an important spiritual element in my being. The passing of Richard Wright is very sad to me. Ultimately, Pink floyd will exist only as memories or studio/live recordings. Richards death signifies the movement of that process which began with Syd's passing recently.
As a tribute this past Monday, I put on my vinyl copy of Wish You Were Here, opened my windows and tore the roof off that sucka.
No other music fills me with the power & level of emotion that Pink Floyd does. Though Richard is gone, lets never forget The Narrow Way, Echoes, Shine on you Crazy Diamond and the like.
Share this music with your kids and their kids. It is a timeless treasure.
R.I.P Richard
