    Christmas in Barranquilla, Colombia

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     A Canadian expat living in Barranquilla, Colombia, Statham snapped these images of Christmas decorations at the Colegio Britanico Internacional (British International School), where she works as a teacher.

"I often go home for Christmas, but I have missed the past three," she says.

"I love living in the tropics, but at this time of year I really miss seeing the lights and snow, and seeing the hustle and bustle as people buy their gifts."
    - eoghan, CNN iReport producer

For a Canadian, it is difficult to get into the Christmas spirit in Barranquilla, Colombia where it is almost 40 degrees Celsius every day. Thankfully everyone goes a little "Griswald" with their holiday decorating; it makes me not miss home quite so much!
