This iReport is part of an assignment:
Christmas where you live
Lighting of Liberty Pole.
Every year in Rochester downtown, is the annual lighting of the Liberty Pole for the holiday season. The pole sets on Main street where some of our former big chain stores use to be. It's a festive event. The Mayor comes along other officials. The pole lighting is at 4:30.
Then The Prime Time brass band starts playing holiday music. The crowd itself becomes a parade. The people march down to Manhattan Square park which is where the Rochester Ice-skating rink is, along with the club house. It's the official start of it.
After that Fireworks are displayed.
