    Making it in America: Mompreneurs

Living a "Charming" Life As A Mompreneur

Hi, my name is Jenn. I'm a mom of three kids ages 6, 5 and 2, and I'm the owner of Katie's Charms (http://katiescharms.com), an online jewelry boutique I started in 2009.

I was a marketing professional for a major financial institution before I had kids, but I knew that I wanted to be home once I had my first daughter. I tried several ways to make money from home, and finally landed on the European charm bracelet fad.

I started Katie's Charms, named after my daughter, and created an online shop where I sell sterling silver bracelets, beads and charms. Over the years I've expanded to selling on Amazon and Etsy as well, and I now offer bracelets for little girls, as well as hand stamped personalized charms.

My days are pretty crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way! My "office" is in the corner of our living room, and I pack orders and answer emails in between naps and school drop-offs. I love that I'm able to be here for my kids, while also having something of my own. And I'm proud that my kids can see that it is possible to be a mom AND be a successful business person.

My future plans for the business are to expand my hand stamped jewelry to include necklaces and men's items, and to hopefully mentor other moms some day so they can also have a "charming" life!
