Hello CNN Fitnation. I am Emily Norton and currently live in Roswell, GA. I am like most of the people that you will hear from. My whole life I have been larger than my peers and said if I ever had to by a size 12 jeans I’d be upset and now I am in an 18. My main problem is that I do not like working out. When I was younger I danced 8-10 hours a week. I never really got into playing sports or running. When I started college I quickly started to put on weight since I no longer danced. One day I decided I would try to start jogging with my friend. Her and a couple girls from the dorm proceeded to tell me how I ran funny. I decided to stop running with them because I was horribly embarrassed. I think since my legs were so turned out from dancing at a young age that I run like a duck. Since then I have attempted to start running again and bought a treadmill about a year ago so I could run inside so no one would see me running funny. Of course I haven’t gotten into running on a treadmill. Another thing to know about me is that I have a Masters of Procrastination. When I bought the treadmill a year ago it was so I could hit my goal weight before my 30th birthday. Well in a year I’ve actually put on 5 lbs. My 30th is in July 2013. I have a list of 30 things I want to complete before I am 30 and achieving my goal weight sadly enough might be the only goal not achieved. What I would like to get out of this challenge more than just weight loss though. The challenge would give me the tools to improve my health and a better understanding of diet and nutrition. Maybe the trainers could help me to not run like a duck! Even if I am not chosen to be a part of this FitNation Challenge I am going to be following along the inspiring stories like last year and hope they help to motivate me to complete my goal.
