Supremes Take No Action On Gay Marriage
It was expected that the Supreme Court would accept one or more of ten cases concerning Gay Marriage currently petitioning for review. Two of the most visible are appeals against Prop 8 in California which outlawed gay marriage where it had once been legal. The other star case is that against DOMA. The Supreme Court Justices review petitions and if five of the nine agree to hear the case it is granted writs of certiorari. It doesn't mean the Supremes will uphold or overthrow either side in the case, just hear it.
