Do we have the 'right' to die?

Do we have the right to decide when and how we die? I know there are states that allow assisted suicide, but most states do not. I recently read of a 58-year-old woman in Ireland that has multiple sclerosis. The woman is pleading in the court to let her die and has thus far been denied. They have told her that their constitution does not give a person the right to die. What?!
So if I serve in their military, I do not have the right to die. That’s reassuring!
I would think that if the person is of sound mind when they make that decision and there is just reasoning, such as terminal injuries and ailments, that anyone should have the right to end his or her life. If these people had medically acceptable ways of doing it then it would prevent many who turn to hanging, shooting, poisons and other inhumane methods.
