The fiscal cliff: Messages to Washington |
Fiscal responsibility
- dsashin, CNN iReport producer
When we closed the budget for FY 2011-2012 we came within $119 of a completely balanced budget.
It is all about watching every line item and taking action if things start to swing out of line. You don't wait until you are drowning to find out where the life preservers are on the ship.
I would love to see all government run operations be held accountable for spending. Bottom line, if you don't have it, you can't spend it.
Without fiscal responsibility, we will no doubt head in a direction that will cause the crash of our financial markets.
