Marine Colonel, Fighter Pilot, retiring after 30 years of active duty service
My husband, Colonel David R. Leppelmeier, will retire from the Marine Corps this Friday, December 7th after 30 years of active duty service in the Marine Corps! He flew the F-4 Phantom and the F/A-18 Hornet, and served in many other "ground based" capacities throughout his career, including, most recently, serving as the Assistant Wing Commander of 1st Marine Aircraft Wing in Okinawa, Japan. His ceremony will take place aboard the USS Midway Museum in downtown San Diego; Dave served two separate combat deployments aboard the USS Midway during his career, and completed 9 other combat deployments aboard aircraft carriers and in Iraq. We are very proud of his service to his country, and though you'd like to see some of our favorite pictures from over the years. Our boys are still young (Jake 5, Nolan and Harry 4, and baby girl Stella due early April!) and we are looking forward to whatever life brings our way next!
Cheers!
Julie Leppelmeier
