    The Sendoff

Papua New Guinea was a place that I had wanted to visit since I was a child. I got the chance in May, 2012. Part of the trip involved a visit to tribes who live on the Karawari River (a tributary of the Sepik River). I had just visited this family to watch a demonstration of how Sago flour is harvested from the Sago Palm and then cooked into different foods. The children helped us "shove off" as we departed.
