Discover the douro valley, a hidden gem in northern Portugal
Aquapura douro valley is located on the northern part of Portugal, amongst terraced vineyards that for centuries are producing grapes for Port wine. This region is a Unesco World heritage site, a hidden gem off the beaten track….
Aquapura’s cuisine is of patience and dedication like the one of old times. It does not forget the aesthetics and aims at providing an unforgettable dining experience in a 21stcentury atmosphere. It also is a market and season cuisine, which takes advantage of the fresh ingredients available each season of the year. It stands out for its obvious simplicity and hides the search, dedication and willingness to innovate by improving traditions without cutting out the past, presenting traditional flavours in a contemporary presentation. The flag dishes are :
•
fish from the atlantic
fish degustation with a bread panada of crab, cuttlefish ink crumble scented with a fine herbs olive oil
veal
veal tournedo, terrine of poultry livers, wild mushrooms risotto
and a sauce of port wine and foie gras
chestnuts
chestnut and port wine pudding with
wild berries sauce and “terrincho” cheese ice-cream
Like myself and my friends I’m sure you will be thrilled by the whole experience: the beauty of the landscape, the quality of the food and wines, the sympathy of the staff and the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere
