Hudson Valley WARNING - Change Your Tires For Winter!

Can you believe the first week in December is almost over already? Whether you want to admit it or not, winter is closing in fast and although the wintertime is a beautiful time of year, it also means you need to prepare. You need to prepare, food for the Holidays, you need to prepare your house with decorations, and you need to prepare your car or truck with good snow tires!

Oftentimes, we get so wrapped up in preparing for the Holidays that it's easy to forget about your vehicle maintenance and this is why there are so many people who end up in bad situations during this time of year! Although tires can be expensive, it's worth getting them before you get stranded somewhere in the middle of a snow storm, rather than get stuck in a situation like that.

One of the most expensive places you can go to buy tires is a major chain dealership. Although the service may be considered the best around, their prices reflect that top of the line service that you're receiving, so many times people will go to a smaller private dealership or privately owned tire or repair shop. The service at places like this is usually also above par and their prices are generally much more reasonable than if you were to go to a major car dealership.

Another option now-a-days is to shop online for your tires. The thought of this might scare some people, but if you go to your local tire distributors and examine the tires that are offered for your particular vehicle type, write down the brand names and sizes of the tires that you come across that catch your attention. Once you're home, look up those tires written in your notepad and see if you can find the same ones online priced cheaper than in your local tire center.

A piece of advice that I will add is to be careful of buying tires from places like eBay and Craigslist. Even though places like this may seem to offer you the best bang for your buck, anyone can sell on places like this and that means that there are those malicious people who will try to rip you off just to make a buck, so just keep that in mind while doing your shopping, should you choose to take the online route.

All this being said, just be sure you have a safe Holiday and enjoy time with your friends and family. May safe travels accompany you to all of your Holiday destinations this year!
