    Japan - Major 7.3 quake prompts local tsunami warning

    Western Pacific - Japan – A major 7.3 earthquake 153 miles off the east coast of Honshu, Japan has prompted a local Tsunami Warning for the Miyagi Prefecture with coastal evacuations ordered. A tsunami height is expected to be up to 2 meters. For the remainder of the Pacific Basin, a tsunami watch / warning / advisory has not been issued at this time.
