We had wanted to do the 48 FPS special edition and the IMAX version of the The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey one right after the other the opening night but we ran the fact that all the tickets had been sold out before we got there a week in advance. The best we could do was tickets for a split viewing of the feature. The IMAX in the morning and the 48FPS later in the afternoon. We know that many are going to see the films because they are Peter Jackson fans or fans of the Rings films. We are film buffs and want to see for ourselves which is better the IMAX or the 48FPS versions in 3D. Many films are made in 3D simply to make money, a few are made to be in 3D like Hugo and made right. Will the Hobbit be a great 3D film and will 48FPS be a new frontier in film making or a mistake. We were at the comic con where 48FPS got very mixed reviews.
