Temporary Lake
Just after Hurricane Sandy struck the east coast with a fierceness rarely known for this region, much flooding was documented throughout Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.
This photo was taken in Old Saybrook, the day after the storm ended. As dusk began to set in and the clouds gave way to the setting sun, this temporary lake glistened.
All the power was out in all the homes in this photo. Yet this quiet silhouette of front yard water seems almost resort in nature. It hardly seems like the leftovers of a horrific hurricane superstorm!
