Fairy Tales Come Alive
"Once upon a time, when I was only 9 years old I won a book-prize at school. It was titled ' Grimm's Fairy Tales," she says.
"Last week I went to Hanau to walk around the Christmas Market and as I looked up, there were the statues of the Grimm Brothers, standing majestically over the old city square! I was standing exactly where my fairy-tales began...Wow!!!"

Recently I moved house and as I was unpacking I found the Grimm's Fairy Tales, pages almost falling off and very yellowed with years past.
Last week I went to Hanau to walk around the Christmas Market and as I looked up, there were the statues of the Grimm Brothers, standing majestically over the old city square! I was standing exactly where my fairy-tales began...Wow!!!
The Grimm Brothers were born in Hanau...it took me this long to find that out!
As I sipped my glühwein and soaked up the delectable aroma coming from all directions, from oh-so many food-stands and candy-stalls, my eyes moved over to look at my cup. There, printed on the cup was the image of the Musicians of Bremen! My childhood memories came gushing back to me and I moved around like a child once again, re-living the fairy-tales I once knew.
I saw some pretty miniature houses at a stall and had to take a photograph of it. It suddenly occured to me I am actually living a real fairy-tale as these minatures are replicas of houses that are for real, right here in Germany where I live.
Fairy Tales do come alive...and they make a very happy ending at Christmas.
