Hurricane Ike |
HURRICANE IKE VICTIMS EVACUATED
Hurricane Ike victims receive food and temporary shelter at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Downtown Houston. Volunteers and workers assist with everything from FEMA relief and registration to passing out food and beverages. In the event more people leave Galveston as access to and from the island increases, the convention center is ready with more cots and supplies for those in need. Photo by Sean Blake of blakephotography.com. Special thanks to Chef Doug, a volunteer from Crossville, Tennessee and also to Robert Ramsey from the Monroe County Red Cross Chapter.
