This iReport is part of an assignment:
West Coast Quake Watch Extended through 12/17
A earthquake watch should be issued for the entire west coast and immediate surrounding areas. Due to the activity on the east side of the Pacific rim during this watch it has been deemed that this watch should be extended. The term "Watch" in this case would expect an increased probability to produce at least the minimum activity within the forcasted area inside of the next 7 days. The forcasted magnitude is not expected to exceed 7.9M but is expected to be above a 6.5M. The forcasted target zone seems to be within 80 Miles of Santa Maria, California but the watch area should cover the entire west cost. This watch should be valid until 12/17/2012 at 1:59 p.m. PST. As with any forcast , watch , or warning , the nature of weather is to change , so expect the unexpected and you will always be one step ahead. Key message to this story is : Be Prepared!
