    Life is short

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Freelance photographer Matthewkort captured this poignant image of flowers and candles laid outside the mall in Clackamas, Oregon, where a deadly shooting happened on Tuesday night. "It was very quiet there, just a few people walking around seeing what had happened," he said. "I saw a woman talking to the news [cameras] with a candle in her hand and later when I walked past the verge I saw it had been laid down and someone had put flowers there." He says the area has not had such a terrible shooting in some time. "I was definitely shocked, that something could happen so close [to me]," he said.

It's unfortunate that people do what they do.. life is short and you have to live everyday as if it was your last.. I took a trip to the site of the shooting and as soon as I was near the mall i started getting chills knowing that this happened for no reason and it could have been anyone that i know... life is very unforgiving and now some families are mourning the loss of the loved ones because they went to the mall, they went to shop and enjoy the christmas spirit of buying gifts for someone.. something so simple turned out to be something soo tragic.. I felt that i had to get pictures of the aftermath and when I was rolling up I saw a lady talking to the news with this candle.. a few minutes later before leaving i walked pass and she had set it down and someone else left 2 roses and I had to get this moment on camera. pls feel free to download this and share it or even put it as a cover picture like myself to honor those who could not make it to see christmas.
